Pre-School

We are really excited to announce that our pre school provision is now open. We are able to take children from the term after they turn 3.  We offer fully funded and paid sessions.  If you are interested in joining our kind, friendly, supportive school then please contact the school office for a free taster session.  Please contact 01536 790506 to view our school.

Our Pre-School can hold up to 8 children at any time and these children are part of Ducklings class with our Reception children.

Our provision for Early Years is committed to offering an excellent education where children flourish and reach their potential.

The curriculum lies at the heart of our Early Years Foundation Stage, and it is here where the building blocks to our curriculum are secured so they can be built upon as the children move through our school.

We understand the importance of an effective balance between adult-led and child-led activities. We focus on a play-based curriculum and a child-led curriculum which caters for individual children’s interests. In child-initiated activities, children show high levels of engagement, and this is where our skilled practitioners can then develop the continuous provision to support progress for all of our children.

We ensure that our understanding of the children and our assessments inform our provision and guide the next steps we offer. The characteristics of effective learning underpin all we do in Early Years and the environment, both indoors and out, supports these learning experiences. We prioritise and regard the mastering of foundational knowledge as crucial in the younger years.

We plan our provision from the three Prime Areas and the four Specific Areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We work closely with parents and carers building partnerships which support the children to flourish.
