Pupil Voice

Pupils have opportunities to take on leadership roles and live out the school's vision.  Each year, pupils have the opportunity to apply for and then become members of:  School Council, Sports Crew, Reading Ambassadors and Values Champions.  During whole school worship, the children are reminded of each role and the application process.

The Application Process

School Council

The school council members reflect on how they can make improvements to their school and regularly support school leaders in making decisions that affect school life.  Members of the school council enjoy their role because it enables them to help others.   The School Council organises events and initiatives  that support local and global charities. Although there is some provision for pupils to take action, this is currently underdeveloped. This means that pupils’ ability to challenge the root causes of injustice is limited.

Each class representative meets with their class to discuss ideas about changes and improvements to the school. The issues are then raised in the meetings and councillors discuss how to move forward with these ideas. They carry out surveys and votes within their classes so that each class’s opinion is represented.
